7 Steps to Simple Amper Installation
- Familiarize yourself with Amper's Hardware & Overall Installation Process
- Determine Hardware Options & Place Order
- Configure Wi-Fi (For Wi-Fi enabled Gateways only)
- Setup Gateway and Aggregator
- Connect Sensors & Signals
- Login to the Amper App to Configure Your Machines & Calibrate
- Validate & Go Live
A few things to note before you get started: Schedule Time to Turn Off Machines To install your Amper hardware, you'll need access to both the machine and the machine's power panel. It is recommended that you turn off the machine during install, so you can safely open up the panel. If you plan to do this, be sure to schedule time in advance to avoid any disturbance to machine operators Plan Installation Time with Maintenance Staff Since the installation will be done partially in the machine panel, it is essential to have a member of your team who in knowledgeable about the inside of a machine. In most facilities this will be a member from your Maintenance or Engineering staff. Make sure to discuss availability with the proper team member to ensure they are available to assist.
Step 1: Familiarize yourself with Amper's Hardware & Overall Installation Process
Step 2: Determine Hardware Options & Place Order
Step 3: Configure Wi-Fi (For Wi-Fi enabled Gateways only)
If your factory opted for Wi-Fi gateways, you will need to configure both the Gateways as well as the IT configuration on your local network.
Step 4: Setup Gateway and Aggregator
Install the the Gateway, then route the CAT5 cable from the Gateway to the inside of the machine's panel to connect the Aggregator.
Step 5: Connect Sensors & Signals
Once the Gateway and Aggregator are in installed, the final piece of hardware to install is the sensor, used to monitor the electrical current of your machine, or the connection to the digital signal being monitored.
Step 6: Login to the Amper App to Configure Your Machines & Wait for Calibration
After you are finished installing the hardware on all of your machines, you must self-configure your machines in the app.
