The Part Count Multiplier (PCM) simplifies part entry for operators, which is especially useful for molding customers and machines that produce more than one part per cycle. Different types of molding machines can use various molds that result in different quantities of parts being produced. By utilizing Digital Cycle Counters, Amper can automatically count not only the cycles being produced but also the number of parts produced per cycle.
How does the PCM work?
If a sheet has a part with a configured Part Count Multiplier, you will now see a new field on the tally sheet called “Part Multiplier”. With this field present, every count entered will be multiplied by its value.
Adding a Part Quantity Manually
The "Add Part" function now explains what adding a part means in terms of good part quantity with PCM enabled.
In this case, one (1) part is added in the window; however, since the PCM is 4 we are actually submitting 4 Total parts.
Adding Scrap Quantity
Adding scrap counts remains the same. PCM does not apply to scrap. Scrap is still entered by piece.
Parts Without a Multiplier
If you deselect a part, the part count multiplier will not be displayed. It is not possible to have a part count multiplier with no part selected. Additionally, if you select a new part that does not have a part count multiplier, the part count multiplier will no longer be displayed on the tally sheet.
How do I get it?
PCMs are added to individual parts under Settings >> Parts.
This configuration determines if the Part Count Multiplier field shows up on tally sheets.
Adding a Part Count Multiplier (PCM) to a Part Number
Navigate to Settings >> Parts and click on the edit button.
Part count multipliers are defined by each part and are part specific.
Add your desired part count multiplier value in the Part Count Multiplier Field.
Do not forget to click the save button at the bottom right corner.
Each part has a configuration for a part count multiplier. If a part has a PCM set, it will show on the parts screen and as a field on the tally sheet.
