Welcome to Copilot!
What’s new?
We’ve introduced a new operator interface! This guide will help you transition smoothly from the tally sheets you’ve been using to Copilot.
This transition won’t require any major workflow changes. You can continue to use only the fields you’re interested in. We hope you find this interface easier to use!
A note on goals
Using goals is highly recommended, but not required. Goals are an integral part of Amper’s shift from machine-centric to job-centric operations. Goals will help you track a job’s real-time progress and projected end date.
Follow the guide below to transition to Copilot without goals, or learn more about Goals.
Manual part counting
Start work
If you only use tally sheets to track part counts, then you can leave all of the fields blank and click Start Production
in the start screen.
If you don’t want to see the other fields at all, you can hide them in the Tally Sheet Settings
page.
Hiding unused fields
If you don’t want to see these fields on the Start New Work
screen at all, follow these steps:
- Navigate to
Settings
>Tally Sheet Settings
in the Amper web app. - Find the section called
Goal Fields
. - Click on the pencil icon next to the field you’d like to edit.
- When the pop-up appears, select the
Required
orHidden
box. - Click
Confirm
once you’ve checked the appropriate box.
Custom fields will show up on every tally sheet. The information entered into them will apply only to the tally sheet you’re starting.
Tip: Want a custom field value to carry across shifts (e.g. Operation
or Work order number
)? Enter it into the Goal
field, since a goal can span several shifts.
If you have any concerns about this and feel like it will not work for you, please reach out to your Customer Success Engineer.
Add good parts
Click on Add Part
in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
When you choose to Add Part
, the part type (Good or Total) may vary depending on your configuration.
Enter the quantity and click Save
(or Cancel
to go back).
Add scrap parts
Click Add Scrap
and follow the same process described to add good parts.
You can select a reason for scrap from a dropdown menu of pre-defined options.
Copilot overview
Tally sheets
If you don’t use the new fields, you’ll see a --
instead of a number in some of the fields in your tally sheet. This won’t cause any issues.
Amper will provide as much production information as possible based on the data you do enter.
Within your tally sheet, your main focus will be on the large numbers at the top: Good parts
and Scrap
.
These will keep track of your production and scrap rates in real time as you add part counts.
View part history
Click Part History
to see the part counts entered into your sheet so far.
You’ll see a list of all previously entered part counts, the date and time of entry, the part type (good, total, or scrap), and the quantity.
Click on Edit
to change any of these part count entries.
Finish work
When you are done with your shift, click Finish
.
Close Goal
if you have met all the targets for the goal, not just your shift.
Finish Later
if you or someone else will pick this goal back up in a different shift.
