Linked Assets bring every workstation, process, and piece of equipment into Amper—no IoT hardware required, enabling a fully paperless, digital operation. Now you can easily schedule work, track production, or report issues on all of your assets inside of Amper, regardless of whether they’re connected to hardware.

Adding Linked Assets
There are two ways to add Linked assets into Amper: CSV upload or manually through the hardware page.
CSV Upload
Go to Settings > CSV Upload
Select Assets
as your data type.
Download the Assets template to make sure your upload is in the correct format, fill out the template, and then upload your CSV.
Once the upload is successful, your assets will be available throughout Amper.
Full details on CSV upload can be found here: CSV Upload)
In the Hardware Page
- Add them one by one from the
Hardware
page - Go to
Hardware
> ClickAdd Machine
> Enter asset details and Save.
You should then see your Linked Asset appear on the Hardware page.
Asset + Hardware Summary
As you add assets to your factory, you’ll see a summary at the top of the hardware page for both Assets and Hardware.
At all times you’ll be able to see how many total assets you have added, and how many of these are not configured to hardware (these are the Linked Assets)
If at any point you want to upgrade the Linked Asset to a connected machine, you can choose to configure hardware for that linked asset. See details in the section below.
Using Linked Assets
Once you’ve added Linked Assets, they can be used in many of the same ways as a connected asset.
Timelines
When present in a factory, Linked Assets will appear in the Timelines page.
Linked Assets will be represented as a new machine state, which will be a black circle with a linked icon within it.
The actual timeline will be represented as a grey speckled line. It will be visually differentiated from the existing machine states (red/yellow/green) or a machine that’s lost (grey) or in calibration (blue).
By default, the linked assets will be filtered out of Timelines when visiting the page, but they can be filtered back in.
Scheduling
Jobs can be scheduled on Linked Assets in the same way that they’re scheduled on machines connected to Hardware.
Whether you have an ERP integration, you’re uploading jobs via CSV, or manually, you can assign work to your Linked Assets.
You can set job targets, such as end date or part counts, and you can monitor the job’s progress towards those targets to make sure your schedule stays on track.
Copilot / Operator Interface
You can use Copilot for a linked asset in nearly the same way that it’s used for a connected machine.
Enter job information, log your name as an operator, and track your setups or production.
The timeline at the top of Copilot will not show the red/yellow/green machine states since utilization data is not being captured. It will appear as a white and black speckled line for linked assets, the same way it appears on the Timelines page.
You can enter part counts, view your targets, and monitor your job forecasts with Linked Assets, which ensures a consistent experience on the shop floor for all of your operators.
Scoreboards
Linked Assets can also be viewed in Scoreboards for complete shop floor visibility.
View the Linked Asset in the same place as your connected machines, see who is working at the Linked Asset, what job is running, and whether the job is on track.
Configuring Hardware for a Linked Asset
If you create a Linked Asset and later decide you want to add hardware for full machine connectivity, that’s no problem!
Find the asset in the hardware page, expand the card, and click the pencil icon.
This will bring you to the utilization configuration modal, where you can enter all utilization configuration details.
If you’d like to configure part counting for a linked asset, click on the Part Count
tab, select New Configuration
and fill out the configuration details in the modal that appears.
